Your First Appointment
We begin with a detailed clinical history—this is the most valuable tool for diagnosing balance disorders. Your initial telephone consultation will be about 30 minutes.

Your Second Visit
Based on your initial assessment, we’ll determine which tests you require (all bulk-billed). For suspected BPPV, we utilise positional testing with our advanced videonystagmography (VNG) system to achieve maximum accuracy. If BPPV is confirmed, we’ll perform a corrective manoeuvre (80% success rate).

Other Tests We May Perform
-
Oculomotor assessment (VNG) to evaluate cerebellar and central connections
-
Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT) for semicircular canal function
-
VEMP (vestibular evoked myogenic potential) for utricle and saccule assessment
-
Basic balance testing
-
Hearing screening (PTA) and middle ear function (tympanogram)- occasionally.
-
Vision denied test
-
Headshaking and fistula tests (as required)

After Your Assessment
Once investigations are complete, we’ll discuss the diagnosis with you and design a treatment plan together. Treatment may include medications, repositioning manoeuvres like the Epley maneuver, or exercises. For the treatment of vestibular migraine, Meniere's disease and other diagnoses, medications may be required for effective management.
